Board Confirms David P. White as National Executive Director and Approves New, Three-Year Contract
Los Angeles (May 20, 2012) – The National Board of Directors of the newly formed SAG-AFTRA met for the first time over May 19 and 20, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
On the recommendation of the union-wide national officers and the Executive Committee, the National Board confirmed David P. White in his role as National Executive Director and authorized his new three-year contract in that capacity, expiring May 21, 2015.
SAG-AFTRA along with other entertainment unions, movie studios, TV networks, talent agencies and a host of nonprofit groups, have created the “Got Your 6” initiative, a multipronged effort to support military veterans and their families.

Longtime SAG Board Member and Past Officer Passes Away
LOS ANGELES (May 7, 2012) - SAG-AFTRA released the following statement:
SAG-AFTRA mourns longtime member and past SAG Ralph Morgan Award recipient Yale Summers, 78, who passed away Sunday in Beverly Hills after a long battle with COPD.

SAG-AFTRA joins rock music and radio fans around the country in mourning the passing of disc jockey, respected rock historian, and long-time union member Pete Fornatale.
SAG-AFTRA, a national union of 160,000 members, sent the following advisory to its members today regarding work covering music videos and its fight for safe, fair working conditions and health care for SAG-AFTRA dancers and performers who appear in music videos.
The notice is an advisory to members of action the SAG-AFTRA National Board may take at its upcoming meeting on May 19/20, which may include a Do Not Work Notice to members.
