SAN FRANCISCO (April 5, 2014) --- SAG-AFTRA has launched a Save Local Radio campaign to support members fighting for a better contract at top-performing San Francisco radio station 96.5 KOIT.On Thursday, SAG-AFTRA launched "www.savelocalradio.org/koit" to encourage Bay Area listeners and the public to support the five-member bargaining unit at the station, which is owned by Pennsylvania-based broadcasting company Entercom.
SAG-AFTRA mourns the passing of Television Academy President and COO Lucy Hood who died Wednesday following a battle with cancer. Lucy was a thought leader and a passionate supporter of the industry, and SAG-AFTRA is proud to have been able to work with her and the Television Academy as a partner organization. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lucy's family, co-workers and friends.
LOS ANGELES (April 1, 2014) — As part of the Commercials Contracts negotiated last year between SAG-AFTRA and advertisers, all ads made under a union contract must now incorporate Ad-ID.
Ad-ID is technology that allows ads to be tracked across all media. The Web-based system generates unique identifying codes and stores standardized descriptive data that allows ads to be tracked and measured across all media. Under the agreement, the deadline for mandatory adoption of Ad-ID into union-signed commercials was March 31.
LOS ANGELES (March 31, 2014) — In its continuing efforts to educate members about the recently released Personal Managers Code of Ethics and Conduct, SAG-AFTRA held its first bicoastal seminar on the agreement, receiving positive comments (examples below) from a capacity crowd of more than 300 members on the importance of the new code and the overall need to regulate personal managers.
Due to inclement weather in the D.C. area, the SAG-AFTRA Washington-Mid Atlantic Local will be closed on Monday, March 17.

LOS ANGELES (March 4, 2014) – Entertainment and media union SAG-AFTRA is partnering with South by Southwest (SXSW), the world’s leading music industry event, for a six-hour music showcase on March 11 featuring up-and-coming artists, including Wardell and Hudson.
SAG-AFTRA Sound Recordings and SXSW present The Show at Buffalo Billiards, taking place 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on March 11 at 201 E. 6th St. in Austin, during the annual SXSW Music Festival. The event is for ages 21 and over only.
