SAG Supports California ‘Million Plates’ Campaign

The California Arts Council has come up with a creative way to raise funds in light of ever-increasing budget cuts: make the California Arts license plate tax-deductible. Since the Arts Plate first went on sale in 1994 it has raised over $20 million for California arts through sales and renewals. Now, all fees for the Arts Plate are considered a charitable contribution to the California Arts Council, an extra incentive to support California arts.


LOS ANGELES (June 22, 2010) – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), Directors Guild of America (DGA), International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada (IATSE), and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) today released the following statement:

Gloria Stuart, Paul Napier Honored with Ralph Morgan Awards

LOS ANGELES (June 19, 2010) – Screen Actors Guild Hollywood Division today honored Gloria Stuart and Paul Napier with the prestigious Ralph Morgan Award, the highest service award given by the Hollywood Division. The honor was bestowed as part of the Annual Hollywood Division Membership Meeting at the Sportsmen’s Lodge.

SAG and AFTRA members be advised that the W&W committee meeting scheduled in Los Angeles for Monday, June 21, 2010 has been cancelled.

The Hollywood W&W Joint Committee of SAG and AFTRA will reconvene at the next scheduled meeting on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the AFTRA Frank Maxwell Board Room where participants will view a presentation on the Entertainment Industry Landscape.

The Actors Fund held its 14th annual Tony Awards party at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles on June 13, with Broadway superstar Tommy Tune serving as host. SAG President Ken Howard attended the event along with SAG National Board Members Adam Arkin, Jeff Austin, Scott Bakula, L Scott Caldwell and Pamela Reed, as well as SAG Hollywood Executive Director Ilyanne Morden Kichaven and Communications Executive Director Pamela Greenwalt.
