SAN FRANCISCO (March 11, 2015) --- Today, staff at KGO-AM and KSFO-AM in San Francisco voted unanimously to join tens of thousands of media and entertainment professionals by choosing SAG-AFTRA as their union. The new bargaining unit will cover producers, board operators, web producers and more, for news and talk stations KGO 810 and KSFO 560. The election was conducted at the station on March 11, and the vote was 20 to 0.

American music icon, five-time Grammy Award winner and New York Times bestselling author Wynonna Judd is teaming up with her union, SAG-AFTRA, and South by Southwest (SXSW) for an in-depth interview with NPR’s Ann Powers and a very special intimate performance at the 2015 SXSW Music Conference and Festival, both to take place on Friday, March 20.
SAG-AFTRA does not issue W-2 tax forms. Instead, members receive them from the companies for which they've worked. Our effort to fix this long-running inequity with our recording artist members is gaining momentum. It is long past due for recording artists to gain a performance right (royalty) for their music when it is played on AM/FM radio. However, radio broadcasters are fighting this effort with a deceptively named resolution called the Local Radio Freedom Act (LRFA).
