SAG-AFTRA Sets Date for Next Educational Member Meeting on Personal Managers Code of Ethics and Conduct

LOS ANGELES (March 31, 2014) — In its continuing efforts to educate members about the recently released Personal Managers Code of Ethics and Conduct, SAG-AFTRA held its first bicoastal seminar on the agreement, receiving positive comments (examples below) from a capacity crowd of more than 300 members on the importance of the new code and the overall need to regulate personal managers.

LOS ANGELES (March 4, 2014) — SAG-AFTRA has finalized its Personal Manager Code of Ethics and Conduct, a voluntary agreement that is designed to promote honest and ethical relationships between the union’s members and the managers they choose to represent them.

As a sign of commitment to its burgeoning relationship with the personal management community, SAG-AFTRA’s Agency Relations Department is now known as the SAG-AFTRA Professional Representatives Department.

Update for Members Represented by an ATA/NATR Agency

To all members represented by an ATA/NATR agency that have chosen to sign a General Services Agreement (or “GSA”) with their agent:

SAG-AFTRA General Services Agreement Seminar Thursday, March 14, 2013 in Los Angeles and New York City

SAG-AFTRA National Agency staff will hold a bi-coastal educational seminar on general service agreements, or GSAs (i.e. the contracts that some agents have been using to represent our members instead of the standard Legacy SAG agency contracts). These GSA contracts are signed outside of SAG-AFTRA’s protection, and it is imperative that members have a working knowledge of what these contracts say before signing them — your professional future and your income may depend on it.

To all SAG-AFTRA members currently registered for the GSA agency seminar in LA and NY on Dec. 5, 2012 at 12 p.m. (3 p.m. EST), please note that due to circumstances beyond our control, we have been forced to postpone this event to a later date. SAG-AFTRA Offers Members, Franchised Agents Access to Competitive Health, Life, Home and Auto Insurance

LOS ANGELES (October 18, 2012) — SAG-AFTRA announced that it has negotiated a contract specifically designed for SAG-AFTRA members and franchised talent agents nationwide. These products are being made available in order to assist those seeking additional insurance or for members who do not currently qualify for either the SAG-Producers Health Plan or AFTRA Health Plan.
