Screen Actors Guild Reaches Tentative Agreements for Successor Contracts to the Basic Cable Live Action, Basic Cable Animation and TV Animation Contracts
Screen Actors Guild today announced that tentative agreements were reached on Wednesday, November 10, on new, three-year contracts covering basic cable live action, basic cable animation and television animation productions.
The current contracts expire on June 30, 2011, and the new three-year agreement will be effective from July 1, 2011, through June 30, 2014.
SAG Awards® will be Simulcast Live for the First Time In All Time Zones on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at 8 p.m. (ET), 5 p.m. (PT), 7 p.m. (CT) and 6 p.m. (MT)
LOS ANGELES (October 25, 2010) – The deadline for consideration for nomination for this year’s Actors® is fast approaching. Submissions for the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® must be filed by Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at 5 p.m. (PT).
Los Angeles (October 20, 2010) - Screen Actors Guild today released the following statement regarding the feature film production The Hobbit:
“Today, our sister union New Zealand Actors Equity issued a statement recommending all international performer unions rescind their member advisories on the feature film production The Hobbit. In light of this recommendation, Screen Actors Guild will be alerting its members that they are now free to accept engagements, under Screen Actors Guild contract terms and conditions, on The Hobbit.”
The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (“AFTRA”), Directors Guild of America (“DGA”), International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees (“IATSE”) and Screen Actors Guild (“SAG”) (collectively, the “Guilds and Unions”) respectfully offer their comments in response to the Commission’s “Further Inquiry Into Two Under-Developed Issues In The Open Internet Proceeding.”
Los Angeles (September 24, 2010) – In a joint statement issued today, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) announced they will commence negotiations on successor agreements to the AFTRA Exhibit A (Primetime TV) and SAG TV/Theatrical contracts on Monday, September 27, 2010. The talks will take place at AMPTP headquarters in Sherman Oaks, Calif.
New Orleans (August 12, 2010) — Screen Actors Guild National Executive Director David White has been named “Entertainment, Sports & Art Law Section Attorney of the Year” by the National Bar Association, the oldest and largest association of African American lawyers and judges. The honor was presented to White today in New Orleans at the NBA’s 85th Annual Convention & Exhibits.
