
SAG-AFTRA New York Local Co-President Holter Graham is battling leukemia and, along with thousands of others, is beginning the marrow transplant process. All performers know that even a soliloquy takes more than one person. This is an opportunity for us to pull together and offer our support to the many people fighting this disease.
SAG-AFTRA National Agency staff will hold a bi-coastal educational seminar on general service agreements, or GSAs (i.e. the contracts that some agents have been using to represent our members instead of the standard Legacy SAG agency contracts). These GSA contracts are signed outside of SAG-AFTRA’s protection, and it is imperative that members have a working knowledge of what these contracts say before signing them — your professional future and your income may depend on it.

Because of power outages as a result of Superstorm Sandy, the SAG-AFTRA New York Local offices will remain closed on Thursday, Nov. 1 and Friday, Nov. 2. Any local events planned for those dates are postponed.
AFTRA H&R: AFTRA H&R's New York office remains closed through Friday, Nov. 2, and limited phone service has been restored.
Due to the approach of Hurricane Sandy and the possibility of dangerous weather conditions, the SAG-AFTRA New York Local, Boston Local, Philadelphia Local and Washington-Baltimore Local offices will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29, and any Local events planned for that date are postponed.
This includes the New York portion of the GSA ("general services agreement") seminar scheduled for 3-5:30 p.m. EST. The meeting will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

As many as 2,000 SAG members and producers tuned in concurrently via a live online stream on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, to learn details of the new SAG Production Center, which allows producers to download forms and rate sheets, and in many instances sign online, saving substantial time and avoiding the headaches of the paper-based manual approach.
