Attention all members: Please read the following important notice regarding the Half Life Productions program Laughs.
SAG-AFTRA has issued a "no-contract, no-work" order for the first-run syndicated program Laughs, produced by Half Life Productions and Executive Producer Steve Hofstetter. This company has not yet executed a minimum basic agreement with SAG-AFTRA.
We are pleased to announce that last night we reached a tentative agreement in our TV/Theatrical Contract negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).
Thousands of SAG-AFTRA members are working journalists and they need to know that they will not be compelled to reveal the confidential sources they depend on to cover important news stories. Without a federal shield law, reporters face dire penalties, including imprisonment and/or severe fines, for upholding their professional code of ethics to report news in the public interest.
In recognition of the July 4th holiday, SAG-AFTRA offices will be closed on Friday, July 4. Offices will re-open on Monday, July 7.
Happy Independence Day!
