Join SAG Members in Supporting Our Troops This Holiday Season

The SAG National Board of Directors is urging all SAG members to support U.S. troops deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq this holiday season by making tax-deductible contributions to Project: Hollwyood Cares to provide soldiers with global pre-paid calling cards to help them call home this holiday season. In that spirit, many board members have already made personal contributions to support the effort.

Los Angeles to Increase Production Tax Incentives

Screen Actors Guild was on hand at Los Angeles City Hall on Tuesday to support legislative measures that will make it easier to film in the city of Los Angeles. The ordinance, drafted by City Councilmember Richard Alarcon will adjust the Entertainment Production cap from $2.5 million to $5 million, potentially allowing a number of production companies tax savings of more than $3,000 a year.

SAG Hollywood Conservatory Open House

The SAG Hollywood Conservatory is having an open house and you are invited! The Conservatory offers SAG members an opportunity to hone their skills and develop their craft through workshops, lectures and symposia in a supportive and nurturing environment. Membership also allows you the option of submitting two headshots and resumes for our casting books which AFI graduate students use to audition and cast actors for their short film projects.

SAG Labor Day Picnic Draws 500-Plus

The Hollywood Holiday Host Committee delivered another crowd-pleasing Labor Day Weekend picnic on September 4 at the Hollywood Bowl.

More than 500 Guild members and their guests joined to celebrate workers’ rights while enjoying a sunny Saturday out at the Camrose Picnic Area. As usual, it was a time to display union pride and for old friends to catch up, and for some to make new friends. National Executive Director David White and Los Angeles City Council Member Tom La Bonge joined Guild committee members and rank and file in saluting working actors.
