Guild Offers Expert Testimony at ‘Gosselin Law’ Hearing
Harrisburg, Pa. (September 24, 2010) – Screen Actors Guild provided expert testimony Thursday in regard to “Gosselin Law” child labor legislation being reviewed by the Pennsylvania House Labor Relations Committee.
H.B. 2515, sponsored by Rep. Thomas Murt, originated as a way to protect children working on set and is a reference to Kate Gosselin’s Kate Plus 8, which is shot in Pennsylvania.

Screen Actors Guild Celebrates Successful California Tax Credit Incentives
Los Angeles (August 2, 2010) — Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced Friday that the California Film & Television Tax Credit Program that was a part of last year’s budget agreement has achieved its desired goal of keeping scores of film and television productions in state. In its first year, the California Film Commission allocated $200 million in tax credits to 77 projects. This year, another 30 projects are set to receive an additional $100 million in tax credit allocations, which exhausts the fiscal year funding.
AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka Addresses Screen Actors Guild Leaders
Washington, D.C. (May 23, 2010) — The nation’s top union leader, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, addressed leaders from the Screen Actors Guild Regional Branch Division (RBD) at their annual board meeting Saturday in Washington, D.C. The RBD includes 20 Branches spanning from Boston to Hawaii. Nearly 28,000 Screen Actors Guild members who work in film and television live in the regional branches.
AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka to Address SAG Leaders in Washington, D.C.
May 20, 2010 (Washington, D.C.) — AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka will address Screen Actors Guild Regional Branch Division leaders at its annual board meeting in Washington, D.C. this Saturday. The guest speaker will be introduced by SAG President Ken Howard and SAG 3rd National Vice President David Hartley-Margolin.
President Howard sits on the AFL-CIO Executive Council where he concentrates on issues that affect the Guild, the Associated Actors and Artistes of America, professional employees and the entertainment and media industries.
