Los Angeles (July 15, 2010) — On Saturday, U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis addressed members of Screen Actors Guild, AFTRA, the Tri-Union I AM PWD campaign and other entertainment industry leaders in an effort to explore strategies for increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Actor RJ Mitte, a star of the AMC series Breaking Bad, hosted an event in Hollywood on Monday in honor of the Tri-Union I AM PWD — Inclusion in the Arts & Media of People with Disabilities — campaign. The cocktail reception also highlighted Mitte’s bid for an Emmy nomination this year and was attended by his Breaking Bad co-stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, actor Daryl “Chill” Mitchell (Brothers) and many other actors involved with the I AM PWD campaign.
Pittsburgh (March 17, 2010) — Efforts to cast performers with disabilities in film, television and stage roles was the focus of an article in today's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The piece by Tina Calabro featured the work of the tri-union I AM PWD campaign — the Inclusion in the Arts and Media for People with Disabilities campaign of SAG, AFTRA and Actors’ Equity.
