LOS ANGELES AND NEW YORK (July 20, 2010)— Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and Actors’ Equity Association today announced that the International Federation of Actors, also known as FIA (Fédération Internationale des Acteurs), has endorsed the unions’ global I AM PWD campaign.
Los Angeles (July 15, 2010) — On Saturday, U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis addressed members of Screen Actors Guild, AFTRA, the Tri-Union I AM PWD campaign and other entertainment industry leaders in an effort to explore strategies for increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Actor RJ Mitte, a star of the AMC series Breaking Bad, hosted an event in Hollywood on Monday in honor of the Tri-Union I AM PWD — Inclusion in the Arts & Media of People with Disabilities — campaign. The cocktail reception also highlighted Mitte’s bid for an Emmy nomination this year and was attended by his Breaking Bad co-stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, actor Daryl “Chill” Mitchell (Brothers) and many other actors involved with the I AM PWD campaign.
Pittsburgh (March 17, 2010) — Efforts to cast performers with disabilities in film, television and stage roles was the focus of an article in today's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The piece by Tina Calabro featured the work of the tri-union I AM PWD campaign — the Inclusion in the Arts and Media for People with Disabilities campaign of SAG, AFTRA and Actors’ Equity.
