Joint SAG-AFTRA and Joint Policy Committee Statement as Ad Industry Negotiations Commence

NEW YORK (February 14, 2013) – Representatives of the Joint Policy Committee and SAG-AFTRA today commenced negotiations on successor agreements to the commercials contracts.

Today's talks were cordial and positive and both groups look forward to productive bargaining under a jointly agreed upon media blackout already in effect.

We will have no further comment.

Peoria Ratifies New Contract with WEEK TV and WHOI TV

Peoria (August 23, 2012) —Today, members of the SAG-AFTRA Peoria Local ratified a new contract with Granite Broadcasting, operators WEEK TV and WHOI TV.  The contract is the result of a difficult negotiation process that has lasted for almost two years. 

"On behalf of the Local SAG-AFTRA Membership, we want to thank the community for all of their support during our campaign to save local news. Without your support, we are confident we would not have reached a deal," said Local President Garry Moore.  

The Wages & Working Conditions Process in Preparation for the Commercials Contract Negotiations is Beginning

SAG-AFTRA is pleased to announce the beginning of the Wages & Working Conditions (W&W) process in preparation for negotiation of the Commercials Contracts that expires March 31, 2013. It is only through the involvement of members that proposals for this vital negotiation are developed.

Screen Actors Guild, AFTRA Members Ratify New Non-Broadcast/Industrial Contracts

Los Angeles (June 8, 2011) - Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists announced today that members have approved three-year successor agreements to the AFTRA National Code of Fair Practice for Non Broadcast/Industrial/Educational Recorded Material and the SAG Industrial and Educational Contract.

Overall, the memberships of SAG and AFTRA voted 95 percent to 5 percent in favor of the new agreement.

Important Information Regarding the SAG/AFTRA Non-Broadcast/Industrial/Educational Contract Referendum

On behalf of the Joint AFTRA/SAG Negotiating Committee and members of the National Board of Screen Actors Guild and the National Administration Committee of AFTRA, we are pleased to enclose for your ratification on the terms for successor agreements to the AFTRA and SAG Non-Broadcast/Industrial/Educational Contracts. These new agreements, if ratified by the joint memberships, will be effective as of May 1, 2011 and continue through April 30, 2014.
