SAG-AFTRA is pleased to announce the beginning of the Wages & Working Conditions (W&W) process in preparation for negotiation of the TV/THEATRICAL-Exhibit A Contracts that expire June 30, 2014. It is only through the involvement of members that proposals for this vital negotiation are developed.
LOS ANGELES (Oct. 8, 2013) --- SAG-AFTRA has agreed to a one-year extension of two of its legacy contracts for corporate, non-broadcast and educational work. The National Board of Directors ratified the agreement between the union and the Producers Group on Oct. 1 at its meeting in Los Angeles.
Ashland, OR (July 12, 2013) – SAG-AFTRA today announced it has reached an agreement with audiobook producer BeeAudio. The BeeAudio deal is the latest in a series of efforts by SAG-AFTRA to enhance its organizing reach in the area of audiobooks.
In November of 2012, SAG-AFTRA issued “Do Not Work Notice” against the Ashland, Oregon based company that was producing books for various major publishers paying half or less than half the industry standard rate to narrators.
New Three-Year Commercials Contracts Effective Retroactive to April 1, 2013
SAG-AFTRA has negotiated its first major contracts as a new union — the Commercials Contracts — and voting must be completed by 5 p.m. PDT, Friday, May 31, 2013. Member leaders believe they have secured substantial gains for members working in commercials: If approved, the contracts will result in $238 million in wage increases and other payments for all categories of performers, improvements in cable use fees, increases in payments for work on the Internet and new media platforms, and an increase in the late payment fee.
On April 21, the SAG-AFTRA National Board approved the deal reached with the ad industry Apr. 7 on new television and radio commercials contracts. The contracts will result in $238 million in wage increases and other payments for all categories of performers, improvements in cable use fees, increases in payments for work on the Internet and new media platforms, and an increase in the late payment fee. Formal negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the advertising industry began on Feb. 14 and concluded April 6.
LOS ANGELES (April 21, 2013) – The SAG-AFTRA National Board of Directors met in Los Angeles April 20 and 21 and took action on several items including approval of the recently negotiated commercials agreements, an operational restructuring plan, and multiple governance and administrative matters.
