Emergency Assistance for SAG-AFTRA Members Affected by Hurricane Harvey
Residents of Texas and Louisiana are currently experiencing record floodwaters which have taken lives and continue to cause unprecedented damage in the region due to the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
The SAG-AFTRA Foundation has created a special Hurricane Harvey Emergency Assistance Fund to provide urgent financial support to SAG-AFTRA members affected by the recent hurricane and flooding. They are partnering with The Actors Fund to administer the relief efforts on the ground, ensuring all SAG-AFTRA members receive the help they need.
Members are eligible to apply for assistance if they are currently active and have paid their dues through the April 2017 billing cycle (paid thru Oct. 31, 2017). Affected and eligible members may apply by contacting The Actors Fund intake services directly:
The process has been streamlined to speed relief, and consists of a quick, confidential and non-invasive application and consultation to establish need. During the consultation, the social services professionals will also assess each applicant’s need for additional assistance, programs or services.
The SAG-AFTRA Foundation is currently taking donations for the Hurricane Harvey Emergency Assistance Fund. Every donation counts, big or small, and all donations will provide relief to hard-hit SAG-AFTRA members in the affected region.
No SAG-AFTRA membership dues are being used to service or administer the Hurricane Harvey Emergency Assistance Fund.
If you’re a Union Plus Credit Card holder or have a Union Plus mortgage or insurance, you may be eligible for disaster relief. Click here for details.
