With upcoming productions shooting in our area, would you like to know more about the Background Actor provisions of the TV/Theatrical agreement? If so, then this presentation is for you. Please come and join SAG-AFTRA Business Representative Ryan Hastings at the SAG-AFTRA Washington-Mid Atlantic office.

This presentation will provide SAG-AFTRA members the opportunity to learn more about the rules outlining work as a background actor under the TV/Theatrical agreement. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

Check Out the Spring 2018 Conservatory Calendar

The spring semester of the Washington-Mid Atlantic’s SAG-AFTRA Conservatory is underway, and registration is now live for all workshops. There are several new workshops as well as opportunities to join in via webinar for those members who live far from the Bethesda office. Members living in North Carolina should take special note of the workshops on self-taped auditions on May 3 in Wilmington and Asheville.

This improv experience will apply takeaways from improv comedy to life and leadership skills.

SB1154/HB1449 Film Production Activity Tax Credit
Requires applicants to show estimated number of Marylander hires

The Maryland Film Industry Coalition has been working with state leaders to introduce legislation that will provide an incentive program to keep the film industry alive in Maryland. Currently, there is $5 million in the proposed budget, all of which will be committed to one project leaving nothing for new production.
