Over the weekend, it was reported that House Democrats have removed the capital gains tax as part of their budget proposal and in return asked Senate Republicans to close tax preferences to help close the budget shortfall.

Good news! Senate Bill 6027 (SB 6027), a bill to increase the funding for the Motion Picture Competitiveness Program in Washington, was introduced Tuesday in the State Senate. The bill doubles the size of the production incentive program over the next two years to $7 million, and increases the fund incrementally each year until it reaches $10 million in 2019. The sunset date for the program will be extended to 2022.
