When you apply the techniques a comedian uses to get laughs to the craft of acting you find that the results are amazing, in this fun, hands-on workshop taught by Jonathan Leigh Solomon. This workshop will help you make yourself more memorable to casting agents, showrunners and directors by making any role you audition for, or are cast in, uniquely your own.
Professional artist and teacher Vanessa Dinning will do a workshop on accents and diction for actors, including vocal exercises for proper diction. She will also present tips to get into character by using the proper accent and by physically fitting into your character.
Donny Dunstone of Old Town Improv Co. will do a presentation on the art of improv, focusing on both long form narrative and short form game style disciplines in this workshop for members. Mr. Dunstone is a skilled improviser, former stand-up comedian and owner of the newly opened Old Town Improv Co. in San Diego.

At their August monthly mixer, San Diego Local members enjoyed a bit of music provided by Local Board member Ruth Stehle and a visit from SAG-AFTRA Regional Education and Outreach Liaison Cynthia Williams. Members have gathered monthly over the last two years for “3TM” (Third Tuesday Mixer) for informal conversation and networking with other local members. It was the first visit by Williams to the San Diego Local, where she will be developing further outreach efforts in the coming months.
