Members of the SAG-AFTRA Portland Local took to the downtown streets on Sunday June 19, 2016 to show support for their LGBT brothers and sisters in the wake of the Orlando massacre.

"Love triumphed here today," said Portland Local President Duane Hanson, who is pictured beside his daughter Desi and Local Vice President Michele Mariana. "We enjoyed amazing pro-union support from the crowd, with several running up to shake our hands and share quick stories of how the union benefitted them, or their folks, in times of need."

The SAG-AFTRA Seattle and Portland Locals are pleased to announce the implementation of a waiver to the 2015 SAG-AFTRA National Corporate/Educational and Non-Broadcast Agreement. The waiver or Special Performance Contract (SPC), which goes into effect immediately for a three-year period, is designed to capture more union work in the Pacific Northwest Region by reducing restrictions on non-signatory producers and provide more generous terms of employment.
