The registration period for the upcoming NY Casting Access Orientation is being extended, starting from January 7 through the 31, so that all interested SAG members will have a chance to participate.

The NYCAP program offers FREE COLD READING AND AUDITION WORKSHOPS several times each month, conducted by well-known casting directors.


Rochelle Slovin, Director of Museum of the Moving Image, today announced the complete schedule for the screenings and programs that will celebrate the grand re-opening of America’s only museum dedicated to film, television, and digital media. The transformed Museum, which will open to the public on January 15, 2011, will include a new 267-seat theater, a 68-seat screening room, new galleries, and multiple screening spaces for video art.

Screen Actors Guild 2011 Codified Basic and Television Agreements and AFTRA Exhibit A to the Network Television Code Member Informational Meeting to be held December 21, 2010

What: SAG and AFTRA member informational meeting in New York to discuss the terms of the proposed SAG 2011 Codified Basic and Television Agreements and AFTRA Exhibit A to the Network Television Code.

When: 5:30-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 21

Where: Location will be announced to those who receive an official confirmation

On the evening of Wednesday, December 15, the Foundation will be presenting an audition and cold reading workshop for young performers between the ages 8 and 18.  This workshop is open to SAG members only.

The two-hour session will be conducted by a casting professional from Nickelodeon.

The Foundation is still accepting entries for the upcoming showcase in January. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, December 15. Films received after that date will be placed into consideration for the May screening.

All films must be produced under a SAG contract and not run more than 15 minutes in length.

While shorts created by SAG members will be given special consideration, the showcase is open to all filmmakers.

The Foundation’s NYCAP program offers free workshops focusing on helping actors improve their auditioning and cold reading skills. These two-hour sessions are conducted by well know casting directors.

The program is open to SAG members only. Those who have not previously completed the mandatory orientation process may log on to the Foundation’s website starting on Monday, January 24, 2011 and register their information on the NYCAP Orientation reservation list.
