SAG supports the Houston Cinema Arts Festival

Join professional actors, filmmakers and creative artists at the Houston 2009 Cinema Arts Festival November 11 – 15. Setting the Scene workshop on November 14 at 1 p.m. is a great opportunity for members to learn more about the film process prior to auditions by examining the pre-production elements of “Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada” directed by SAG member Tommy Lee Jones.

Stop by the TXMPA VIP Lounge for a cup of coffee and a chat with fellow SAG members.

"Returning Champion" is the next LIVE read presented by Austin Conservatory's Script to Screen Team. This off-the-wall comedy is the story of what happens when a college freshman is booted out of school and has to move back home to his has-been game-show host and hostess parents. The only way out of answering relentless trivia questions and guessing which door breakfast is behind is to get his out-of-work parents back on the air.

An ever-growing independent film market has enticed established writers and professional performers to create a new avenue in presenting their ideas to area investors, directors and producers. This kind of presentation before a live audience leads to renewed interest in scripts as well as local collaboration and production. Join industry members for this live film script presentation.
