The journalists who work for Sinclair Broadcast Group are hard-working and dedicated professionals who care deeply about the work that they do. Over the last couple of days, many of them have been the subject of misdirected criticism for the script Sinclair required them to read for its recent promotional campaign. SAG-AFTRA has been in contact with Sinclair to express our concerns with this campaign, and we stand with our members and journalists everywhere in challenging corporate directives that call into question the journalistic integrity of the news presented to the public.

Statement by AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka on the SAG-AFTRA Video Game Strike:

The AFL-CIO stands in solidarity with the SAG-AFTRA voice-over and motion-capture performers who are on strike after failed negotiations with eleven video game employers. Performers deserve a modern contract that offers the protections necessary to work in today’s video game industry.

LOS ANGELES (April 10, 2016) --- The SAG-AFTRA National Board, meeting this weekend in Los Angeles at SAG-AFTRA Plaza, unanimously approved the recently negotiated commercials contracts and took action on several items including the previously reported historic election of Gabrielle Carteris as president, to fulfill the term of the late Ken Howard, and Rebecca Damon as executive vice president.
