Ever since talent agencies were first allowed to be union franchised in the Southeastern United States, Atlanta Models and Talent has been there to represent union talent. And a continued advocate, on behalf of the union performer here in Georgia during most of that agency’s 50 years of doing business, is Ms. Kathy Hardegree. Ms. Hardegree knows show business. She has local institutional memory and historical wisdom about its operation and thoroughly understands the union contracts. She believes in encouraging producers to utilize them and is excellent about educating them on the subject. She makes a point of upholding the rules and does so against enormous odds. Her talent roster includes some of the biggest names in the business. When she agrees to represent you, she does so with great gusto and a fierce conviction in your abilities.
Is more proof needed as to her commitment to our cause? During the Commercial Strike of 2000, she abided by our picket line. The unions are extremely important to her and she always fights for and protects her clients. She exhibits a high level of ethics and integrity that sets her apart in this marketplace.
Certainly all of this goodwill towards us comes at the expense of her pocketbook—but I can honestly say that it is NEVER at the expense of her name. A more honorable woman you will not find in this industry. She is a real Southern firebrand. And now that more and more union work is coming here because of our great state incentives, we need her to be as strong, vibrant, and vigilant on our behalf as she has been over these many years.
I whole-heartedly recommend that she be honored as a SAG Agent of the Month. She is incredibly deserving of that distinction.
